Love in Cyberspace

I have come across this article in female network entitled Reel Love: 20 Heartfelt Lessons from Romantic Movies. I got so fed up with the title that I read it over and over again. I am a big movie fanatic specially the love story. One particular lesson that catches my attention is “Yes you can find Love in Cyberspace.  It is catchy and timely especially in the era we are into. Chat rooms and dating sites are all present in the World Wide Web. Just search different sites in the search engine and register. Voila, you are now connected to the billions of people that is possibly your soul mate or in simple words the one.

The one, that one person you are searching all your life. The one that can make your heart skips a bit. And make your heart sing even without a tune. Sounds so romantic, but you keep on searching for that person and never find it. You loss hope if he/she will come in your life. Then, you come across this dating site. Registered and started telling about you. Then you found yourself in the middle of the chaos. Many are interested about you. But of all the people telling you they are interested in you. You found this one interesting person. You contacted him and start chatting. After many days, weeks and months past, he told you he is in love with you. How do you react? Is it possible that even you are miles apart, only the dating site has connected your lives and you fell for each other?

I am really curious! I saw many Filipinos marrying a man from different countries and have successful and failed relationships. I really wonder if it is possible to find love in cyberspace. How many percent is its success rate? Have you ever tried as well communicating with a person that you only know through the internet? I never experienced falling in love yet. Maybe, this reason why I want to write about this. Love is a splendid thing that strikes no matter how far the distance would be.

I have so many questions in my mind and I do not know how to answer them. Love really strike when we least expect it. Whether you got love at first sight or know the person for a long time. You do not know when the cupid strikes at you. Maybe, this is the case when it comes to love in cyberspace, you just can’t say I won’t fall in love with him or her because he or she is far from you. You can’t have a firm stand because you can’t say no when love strikes at you.

Note to Self: Being Single is FINE

So it is Valentines Day again. Love is in the air. Lovers are everywhere screaming their love with each other with chocolates, cakes, flowers, balloons and most of all almost every establishment is cheering for this season with so many greetings. February is a time to celebrate couple hood. Oh, oh, this is also the time I feel that I am single and ready to mingle? This month makes me feel so lonely especially when I hear all the love songs in every station playing. Valentines blues again.

It is not that I feel so sad that I came to a point I want to write this article about valentines, it is just to remind myself being single is not at all sad. I want to be reminded that I should not look for that special someone just because many lovers are all around the corner and I feel alone. That would be a superficial reason to get a guy and made him fall in love with me.

Oh, oh, I’m on the third paragraph of this note to self post and I just want to encourage those single women like me to be not affected when Valentines blues enveloped you. It is natural. But, it would not be beneficial for you if you just jump into a relationship just because its valentines. Do not be fed up with valentines, valentines come and go. And the right man for you is just around the corner waiting for you or is searching for you.

Love yourself FIRST!

Note to Self: What does it take to be Strong?

I always love listening to the song Miss Independent by Neyo. It is an anthem in my life and a reminder of what kind of woman I should be. Being strong is always my mantra in life. I always adore strong people; they make impossible things possible, fly higher than the usual, intact with all the problems they face even though inside they are melting and most of all they are the source of strength of the people around them. It is a very hard role to fill in and I want that.

Our family is facing a lot of struggles lately. Financially and physically it is exhausting. All my strength has been used up. The strong façade is slowly going down. My defenses are at stake now. I want to show to all the people that though I am affected by what is happening now. I can still smile and tell the world it will be fine. But it is not always the case anyway. In one way or the other a strong person would lost her strength and needs others to pacify them. The façade will be unveiled and truth shall set free. That is what I have learned for the past day of trying to be strong- at the end of the day; it would me, who is fooling me. I can’t handle all my struggles; I need someone to accompany me in the battle. My strength is still lacking.

On the long road that I traversed, I have realized something. The battle isn’t mine to win. It is for me to learn to trust God. Learn to believe that at the end of the tunnel there will always be light. And that I should not be the one who holds God’s hand. It should be him. I remember foot prints in the sun. It is really true.

Being strong, has many setbacks; many will not ask you how you are, are you fine and are you ok? They assume you don’t need them because you will be fine on your own knowing you are a strong individual. But the truth is, strong people need more encouragement to really show their emotions because they are just hiding their real feelings.

Are you a strong person?

My Take: The Never Give Up Spirit

Have you watched the La Salle Lady Spikers versus the FEU lady tamaraws? Did you enjoy it? Probably, if you are a Lady spikers fan, you will certainly say yes because your team won. For the side of the Lady Tamaraws, you probably felt bad for the loss of the team. But as a fan, and as an expectator of the match, win or loss for the Lady tamaraws they are still on the run for the top 4. A strong contender- a team on the rise. Why did I say it despite the loss? Let me give you my take.

Excellent Floor Defense

Did you see the digs? The pancake digs that was illustrated perfectly by the Ladies. Agno indeed is an excellent libero. The impossible ball that I thought was already dead but amazingly still playable because of their defense. That’s the best illustration of what floor defense is. And how a great defense can be turned into offense. In the later part of sets 2 and 3. The tams executed a great defense. Honestly, even though they fall short in the contest, they gave a scare to the Lady Spikers.

The Sharp Serves

The lady spikers are the number one best receiving team in the league and the FEU is the best serving team in the league. And they showed it. There serves are very strong that even Lady spikers had a hard time receiving it. There were times that they used their sharp serves to equal the score of lady spikers. The Tamaraws just need to have consistency in their serves and avoid serving errors because it will not help in their final four pursuits.

Varying Attacks and attackers

The Lady Tamaraws have strong attackers namely, Eulalio, Rojas, Basas, Palma and their leading scorer Vargas. Anchored by Sy’s sets. They will come a long way. Points to consider, Eulalio-Sy connection is very important in their offense. It should keep on going. Come up with combnation plays to fools the blockers of the opponent.

The Team Spirit

There number one weapon needed to book a final four berth is there never give up team spirit. They keep on going, help encourage each other and fight as a team. They have this very solid team work that the other teams find hard to emulate.

The verdict

I am still routing for FEU to be in the final 4. No offense meant for other teams. I still believe that they can pull off a win even how hard their opponents in the succeeding games. As they always say “tiwala lang”.
