My New Fave: Gerry’s Grill

My New Fave: Gerry’s Grill

2013 for me is discovering new food hubs. I am really in love with food that I cannot get enough of it. Hahaha, from 45 kilograms, I am now 50 kilograms. It’s kinda heartbreaking but ok fine, I choose this. I am currently trying to discover a restaurant for my discriminating palate (”naks). Regardless of I will gain much weight. Because of this quest, I discovered a new food hub I love. It is located in the newly opened Robinsons Mall. I was there twice last year and I will keep on coming back this year. I am talking about Gerry’s Grill.

I am sure you will agree with me how delicious their food there. I am not shocked that many food lovers will choose to wait of available seats and enlist their names in the waiting list just to dine even though there are a lot of quality restaurants in the Robinsons Mall. I am one of those of “parokyano”. I just can’t get enough of them. I love the food and the ambience. It is so cool. In my two dinings, it was what I have noticed. I love their caldereta the most because it is overflowing with cheese but it does not overpower the taste. There are also other foods I love.

Here are the foods that I have ordered in my two trips to Gerry’s Grill

Three Books I love to Read

I’ve been bookwork ever since I was young. I can’t remember when my love affair with it started. What I remember is when I was grade iii, I’ve been borrowing books in our library and visiting our local library every Saturday just to read. It was just a fun filled day with books that I learn to become a habit. Then turned into passion. Books never bore me, if for others, it is for them to sleep at night, for me, it is the opposite of it.  I read to make myself wide awake and to be a learner in the process.
My passion for reading turned me into a book buyer. I am thankful I have a reasonable income to help me buy more books for myself. I now have a lot of books but not all have been read already. I am still looking for some time to read them all. I need to catch up. My books multiplied fast but my reading is only an addition. So much so, this is my first ever to right about the books I love. This for sure will have more to come. I just want to share the three books I am currently reading from OMF Literature. They are Refreshing Words for Busy Women, Boy Meets Girl and The Purpose Driven Life. These are the books I always try to catch up every day. I am not making this a review style but I want to tell why I love these books. You may have your different opinion but care to read mine.

Boy Meets Girl by Joshua Harris

This is the sequel of I Kissed Dating Goodbye. In this book, Joshua Harris shares the journey of romance with purpose. This is an ordinary book for others, but for Christian women who wants to be guided by God’s word in courtship, this is the best book for you. This book is romantic by nature but the stories shared by the people in this book are inspirational. I’m amaze that this book proves me that love without lust does exist in this modern world. That God has a hold of our relationship, if we want to submit it to him. God is interested with our love story if only we are willing to wait for his perfect time. Truly, this book is an inspiration for me. I am not yet finish reading this but I really love it.

The Purpose Driven Life by Rick Warren

I’ve been following Rick Warren in my social media accounts even before I bought his book. His tweets are always inspirational and his words are filled with God given wisdom. This summons me to buy The Purpose Driven Life. If you are a Christian or even you are not, I really suggest you buy his book! First is because this is a life changing book. Devote yourself for 40 Days. Forty days knowing God’s purpose in your life and I promise you, you’re life will never be the same again. God is speaking through this book, you will surely feel it. Don’t be afraid of God’s plan in your life, he knows better. This is the reason why I really love this. This is God centered. Second is because this book is the recipient of The Gold Medallion Book Award in recognition of Excellence in Evangelical Christian Literature by ECPA. Third and last is because this book is for you. For you to realize how wonderfully and fearfully made you are, you are God’s beloved.

Refreshing Words for Busy Women by Darlene Sala

This is a devotional book like the daily bread. But has a specific target reader. They are the “busy” women of today. I may categorize myself as a busy woman, with so much things to do and so many plans to fulfil. That’s why I made sure I am able to buy this book. I want to be refreshed too at the end of the day when my strength is not enough to carry me through. I want to make sure that even how busy I am, God will never be forgotten. I love this book because it served its purpose in me well. It has been a daily routine for me to read this masterpiece. I love all the encouraging words.
Those are my favourite books. They are not only books to me but also my companions in my journey with God. They all inspired me. Not only to read but to spread the word.

Happiness versus Pay

Hey Gorgeous!

Thank you for reading my blog!

Today, each one of us wants to have a better life, better job or source of income as they say. Some will jump directly if the offer is good. Greener pasture is always the prime reason in getting a job. Many people do not look at the long run but the opportunity handed to them. Instantly, they accept the job offered to them regardless of how hard or easy it is. Then the problem in the workplace intervenes, there are a lot of hard to deal co-workers, benefits are hardly given importance, pressure is up and so on. You want to quit instantly, but the problem is where you can find a job that has bigger pay than what you are receiving right now. Will you exchange your higher pay for your own happiness? Conflicting isn’t it? If you are to choose, what will you do? Will you opt for a high paying job without happiness? Or having a low income job but you are happy?

Low Income Job with Happiness

What’s your passion? They say, if you love what you do, you will never work a day in your life. There are a lot of people who choose to leave there managerial jobs to become a philanthropist, writer or a farmer. When you ask them what made them choose, they say they are happy. Money is never a consideration. There number one consideration is there self. They want to wake up every morning excited to work which they do not experience in their past job. Sense of excitement is renewed every morning. They don’t work a day in their life because they are too happy and contented with what they are doing regardless of receiving little pay.

High Income without Happiness

But for many people who have no financial stability, many will think it twice. There are bills to pay, groceries to buy and family to support, are just the few reasons one cannot leave there current job even though they aren’t happy with it. There are a lot of “what ifs” if they do. I’ve been hearing from my colleagues why they manage to go on working without happiness, it is the idea of living every payday. They may be a robot working per day but their motivation is the pay. They will have a lot of money in their bank accounts in which they can use in their everyday needs, future necessities and wants. Let’s take for example the salary they have can be use in their travel to de-stress themselves. They can use it as an investment so that if they can no longer take the pressure in the workplace, they will still have source of income.

Very conflicting situation, for you as an individual, how will you weigh your options, what strategy to take? I am sure that many people are also in this situation, I saw it in many of my friends and they are asking for help.  I’m in the midst of seriously thinking about it because I don’t know the answer to it.  It is the reason why I write this blog post, I want to hear your opinions specially if you are trap in this scenario as well. Hope to hear from you.

Christmas at Carmen, Agusan del Norte

Christmas is in the Air! And all over the world, we have different ways of celebrating this yuletide season! In the Philippines, parks are decorated with so many Christmas lights and different adornments that reflect the Christmas season. It is one of the things I Iook forward, going to different parks and see for myself how make it a captivating park after everything has been set.

In Caraga Region where I live, Carmen, Agusan del Norte has been the go-to-place when one want to witness an extravagant display of Christmas lights and all. One will surely be in awe of how they intricately pulled it off. They have been winning almost every year the best Lighted Park in the Province. To justify what I’m saying, I will let you be the just.
